Tourist Attract Sweden - Looking for a Tourist Attraction in Sweden? |
Sweden is a huge country, in fact the fifth largest in Europe. Thanks to the low population here, the land is full of beauty – animals roam free in the country and even the capital city is not as full of tourists as you might expect. If you want to find a tourist attraction in Sweden then you are reading the right article!
Liseburg
Liseburg is the best tourist attraction in Sweden, in fact in the whole of Scandinavia – if you like large amusement parks that is! This one is such good fun for all of the family with roller coasters, a haunted ghost house and milder rides for the little ones. There are often shows on the central stage so don't forget to collect a programme when you enter the park. Liseburg isn't cheap so, for a whole days entertainment, you should be prepared as the rides have a single-ticket purchase (an alternative to this is to buy advance wrist bands that let you ride all day but ensure you get your money's worth). In the winter you will find a lovely market here to buy crafts and foods, and the restaurants and cafes within the park are a plenty so you won't be stuck for choice.
Gothenburg
A great tourist attraction in Sweden is the Barnens Zoo. If you are a family visiting the country for the first time then the Barnens Zoo is a fabulous place. Children are able to interact with animals here and can pet them and watch them being fed. There are plenty of animals here, although the zoo is closed from the beginning of September to late April so don't visit in winter and early spring or you will be disappointed.
Another tourist attraction in Sweden, specifically Haga in Gothenburg, is a quaint little town with beautiful little old buildings and used to be a part of the poor side of Gothenburg. The town is a very trendy part of Gothenburg now and has plenty of choice of cafes and eateries, as well as individual little boutique shops to nose around – great if you're taking a memory away with you.
Stockholm
If you are looking not just for a tourist attraction in Sweden but a tourist attraction in Stockholm, then the capital has endless things to see and do.
You can swim in the cities waterways if you really want to, though the summer is quite mild so you might opt out of this one and choose to take one of the many lovely boat rides instead. The water is so pure and clean here and it's such a pleasure to laze on a boat and let someone else do the work! You can go and see the Royal Palace and stop off at the nearby museum.
If it's more of a busy time you seek, then try Gamla Stan (Old Town) which is bustling with people and has street entertainment and activities. As well as being a stunning part of Stockholm, this is a lovely tourist attraction in Sweden because of its' liveliness – many young couples and singles find that this is the part of the city they prefer. It's urban and trendy and it's a stylish place to be seen in!
Sweden History Tip #1
Always remember to carry a map of Sweden when you visit, mark on it the whereabouts of your hotel and the full address and keep it with you when you travel. Mark down landmarks near the hotel if you plan to walk so that you can easily spot the direction of your residency for the time of your stay. |
Sweden History Tip #2
If you plan to travel to Northern Sweden to experience the Northern Lights and the Ice Hotel, pack accordingly and remember warm clothing, especially in winter months. Thermal underwear is highly recommended on top of hats, scarves and a couple of pairs of gloves – there's nothing worse than packing just one pair and losing one glove! |
Sweden History Tip #3
Gothenburg Sweden is just one of many things to see in Sweden. A good idea is to plan your trip in advance so that you can get to see the best of the best. The place is full of history, glorious scenery, architecture and quaint little buildings. |
