Sweden Government

The government of Sweden is typical of the European countries in that it is a constitutional monarchy with a parliament democracy. In other words they still have royalty to rule the nation, but the royalty are kept in place by the parliament that gets to vote in a democratic manner to make sure the countries priorities are kept with the people and economic growth. You will find that the Sweden government is also ruled by a cabinet of ministers, which is led by a Prime Minister. The Prime Minister is meant to keep the parliament in line or in the Sweden word the Riksdag.

At the moment the Prime Minster is Fredrik Reinfeldt. You will find that the cabinet members are going to be appointed by the Prime Minster, but must also be confirmed by the parliament members. In the Sweden government the Prime Minister is elected by the speaker of Parliament and then the cabinet members must then agree.

There are twenty two cabinet members among the Parliament including the Prime Minister. This number is actually not set as a law. Interestingly enough you will find that the Prime Minister is the one to decide how many cabinet members there will be, but for several years there have been only twenty two members. You will find that Sweden is very open in the government and their politics to have eleven of the twenty two cabinet members as women.

You will find that within the Sweden government there are government agencies outside of the ministries. These agencies are designed to create government policies, while the Parliament and ministries are designed to create small policy making organizations. The ministry can and often does influence the government agencies in the policy making, but cannot interfere in day to day operations of the government agencies. You will find that the Legations and Embassies in foreign countries are a part of the Ministry.

The structure of the Sweden government has been working for several years in order to promote economic growth and been relatively successful. You will also find the Sweden government to be very important regarding the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries of their nation. They have designed quite a bit of environmental policies to protect the animals as well as the resources from being over used.

You will find that the government of Sweden also deals in Asylum, migration, and integration policies as well as other forms of government. There are central, regional, and local government municipalities that will help to determine other aspects of the government of Sweden. In other words the local government has a hand in housing and public administration on a local level as well as having a government on a regional level to deal in the administration.

The Sweden government also has laws based on defense, emergency management and safety that are called upon at certain times. These laws are designed to protect their people and make sure that any natural disaster will be planned for. You will also find that democracy works to protect gender equality and human rights.
