You will find the Swedish Parliament is called Riksdag and located in Stockholm. The Parliament is run by a Prime Minster and cabinet members. Currently there are twenty two cabinet members, of which eleven are women. The Riksdag is elected by the people and anyone that is age eighteen or over may be apart of the voting.
There are three levels to the Swedish government. The three levels are national, regional, and local. You will find that each level of government serves a purpose to protect the people. The local government has a hand in the housing. You will find the county is going to be the supreme decision maker for the local and regional laws.
For other Sweden facts you will find that Sweden is called the “Land of the Midnight Sun or the Land of the Vikings.” Both names have been derived from the history of Sweden during the Norse rule as well as for the location of the country. The national anthem of Sweden is Du Gamla Du Fria, which means Thou Ancient, Thou Free. When visiting Sweden in June you may be a part of the National Day festival that is on June 6th to celebrate their national holiday.
The Sweden flag has a lot of history from the 11th century and later. The design currently flown was adopted in 1906 and consists of a blue flag with a yellow or gold cross that is horizontal on the flag. There are a few flags in Sweden and one that is particularly flown when the King is in residence.

Always remember to carry a map of Sweden when you visit, mark on it the whereabouts of your hotel and the full address and keep it with you when you travel.
